Ayami Suzuki is a Japan-based musician, artist and improviser. Since returning to Japan in 2019 after several years of studies in Ireland and the UK, she has been active as both a solo artist and collaborator on the domestic and international stage. In 2025, she embarked on her first European tour, and has also participated in an India tour as a member of STONE MUSIC, led by Toshio Hasegawa of Taj Mahal Travellers.
She has shared the stage and collaborated with Delphine Dora, Aidan Baker, Aki Onda, Otomo Yoshihide, Carl Stone, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Phew and Tetuzi Akiyama, among others, and has released music on labels including Cloudchamber, Longform Editions, Lontano Series, An’archives and Gizeh Records. Treating the voice as both instrument and pure voice, she constructs soundscapes rooted in folk sensibility and spiritual depth. Spiralling melodies intertwine with environmental sounds in pursuit of a distinctly shadowed vocal ambient.
日本を拠点に活動するミュージシャン、アーティスト、即興演奏家。アイルランドと英国での数年間の留学を経て2019年に帰国後、ソロアーティストやコラボレーターとして国内外で活発に活動している。2025年には初のヨーロッパツアーを敢行、タージマハル旅行団の長谷川時夫率いるSTONE MUSICのメンバーとしてインドツアーにも参加。
Delphine Dora、Aidan Baker、恩田晃、大友良英、Carl Stone、内橋和久、Phew、秋山徹次らとの共演を重ねるほか、Cloudchamber、Longform Editions、Lontano Series、An’archives、Gizeh Recordsなど国内外の多数のレーベルからリリースを行っている。声を楽器としても、声そのものとしても扱い、フォークの土着性と霊的な深みを持つサウンドスケープを構築する。螺旋状に展開するメロディと環境音が絡み合い、陰影のある独自のボーカルアンビエントを追求している。
