Ayami Suzuki with support from JD Roberts

Ayami Suzuki is a Tokyo-based musician, artist and improviser. Her practice revolves around creating ambient soundscapes that incorporate her folk influences in a synthesis of songwriting and improvisation. Since returning to Tokyo in 2019 after several years of studies in Ireland and the UK, she has become an active performer, collaborator and solo artist. Her recent releases for Students of Decay, Longform Editions, Ftarri and Cosima Pitz showcase her singular approach to vocal ambient music, often fusing her ethereal vocals with environmental sounds in a way that feels formless, immersive and expansive all at once.

JD Roberts

Nature-infused melodic ambient soundscapes.

JD Roberts weaves together wandering woodwind melodies, deep drones and birdsong-inspired electronics to create soundscape paintings of sunlit woods, lonely seashores and ancient ruins. By turns melancholic and peaceful, his music invites listeners to slow down, chill out, and immerse themselves in other soundworlds.

Originally from Stockport, JD Roberts has lived all over England and draws inspiration for his music from the landscapes and sounds of the British Isles. His music takes influence from ambient, jazz and folk, blending the acoustic and electronic, the melodic and the atmospheric, to create immersive soundscapes.
